Grants Officer - Part Time [Posted 3rd March 2017]

We are seeking candidates for a new part-time position as Grants Officer to begin work early in the new financial year (1 April onwards) supporting our expanded grants programme following a donation from the Four Acre Trust.

The Job

The Trust is run by a team of four people based at its offices in St James’s Place, central London, under the direction of a Board of Trustees. You will assist the Grants Manager with desk-based assessment of grants applications, corresponding with applicants by telephone, email and letter and visiting their offices and projects, producing final cases to be put to the Director and the Board of Trustees and monitoring and reporting on outcomes and impact.

The position is part time (expected to average 2 days a week for 45 weeks a year) with scope to work flexible hours including home working by agreement. Some travel within the UK will be required with occasional overnight stays, and attendance at the office at least twice a month plus a minimum of six days a year for meetings with Trustees.

The position could be fulfilled by either a self-employed contractor (who meets the HMRC criteria for self employment) or an employee on a fixed-term contract.

Main Terms and Conditions

Salary: 28,000 per annum pro rata depending on agreed contract hours. Initial one-year fixed term contract.

Pension: 2% non-contributory, increasing in line with statutory obligations.

Probation period of three months
